Good theology

Bad theology is tied to sexual immorality. It’s amazing the ridiculous stuff that comes out of peoples mouth. Stupid thinking begins with isolation. Friends reinforce what your doing right and correct you when you get it wrong.

When I am leading a group (or just doing life) one of things I listen for is bad theology i. e. a messed up view of who God is, and what He wants to do in their life. With a good understanding of scripture, experiences with God, and watching how he works over time in our lives and that of our friends it becomes glaringly apparent when someone is off the mark. Usually I don’t say anything right away as I want to let them freely process with out judgement, but I do try to remember what was said for later. If they don’t find solid ground through processing I will have them do a repeat after me during prayer to correct thinking that reveals who God really is and who He wants to be in their lives. I see tears on this all the time because when they do it, it breaks the lie they have been believing that keeps them trapped in their crap.

So,..with that said,…here is something that I wrote up at 9,000 feet in Bighorn Mountains this summer that reveals who God is to me. It helped me to write it,.. and to read it again out loud. Read it through for yourself, then read it again out load and say it for you. Let it adjust your thinking, and the way you live. Right relationship with Him is linked to a knowing of who He is.

The Lord God is my provider. He is my friend, my healer, my salvation, my song. He is my hope, my strength, my helper, my defender, my God. He is my faith, my righteousness, my Father/Mother/brother/ He is my enjoyment. He is in me. He will transform me to be more like him from the inside out. He is giving me wisdom. He will fulfill me, and give me the desires of my heart. He is my lover. He will justify me. He will free me. He has a plan for me. He will prosper me. He is faithful. He will make me whole. I will worship Him, and Him alone. He will sustain me.
